VIDEO: Is James Carver Innocent?
James Carver was sentenced to life in prison for setting a deadly fire. Is he innocent?
Last night, I appeared live on The Young Jurks to talk about the James Carver case. Carver has spent more than three decades in prison after he was convicted of setting the 1984 Elliott Chambers Rooming House fire, which killed 15 people in Beverly, Massachusetts. However, Carver has maintained his innocence and is fighting for a new trial based on scientific evidence that his lawyers say proves he could not have started the blaze.

You can read my in-depth feature story about the Carver case here:
Earlier this year, Carver went before a judge so his lawyers could present the new scientific evidence and argue that he is entitled to a new trial. I wrote several follow-up stories about the hearing. The first piece focuses on problems with eyewitness testimony in the case, the second focuses on developments in fire science that cast doubt on whether the fire was arson, and the third is about the closing arguments.
The 40th anniversary of the Elliott Chambers fire was this July 4, which I wrote about here.
I’ll have more to say about the Carver case and the fire in the future, so please subscribe below for updates on this story.
